BISON is derived from a wild ox of the genus Bison, such as American bison.

Condor is derived from Condor of the raptores. Although Condor is the name as the medium-sized truck in UD Trucks Corporation, it was the name as the bus in Minsei Diesel Industries, Ltd, the predecessor of Nissan Diesel Motor Co., Ltd.

Kazet is derived from the Japanese word "風 = kaze", which means "wind, breeze". Kazet also means "the light truck that works like a refreshing breeze brings energy to the city".

OmniNova is derived from "OmniNova Technology AB" of Volvo's affiliate company, which was founded in Uddevalla, Sweden.
Multi Rider means the short wheelbase. This bus was imported and sold by the sales company of Nissan Diesel Motor Co., Ltd. (currently UD Trucks Corporation).

Quon is derived from the Japanese word "kuon = 久遠", which means "the flow of the eternal time".

RESONA is derived from the English word "resonance", which means like "a vibration of large amplitude produced by a relatively small vibration near the same frequency of vibration as the natural frequency of the resonating system". RESONA is also derived from the resonance intake system in the turbo intake system of this truck.
