GR is derived from the initials of "TOYOTA GAZOO Racing", which collectively refers to Toyota's motor sports division.
GAZOO is derived from the Roman alphabet notation of "η»ε=GAZO", which means "image" in English. It all started when someone mistakenly wrote "GAZO" as "GAZOO". The combination of "Image = η»" and "ZOO = εη©ε" also has the meaning of being fun and familiar.
YARiS is derived from the Greek mythological goddess "Charis", which symbolizes "elegance". In the past, YARiS was the car name for Europe and so on, but the new model in Japan from 2020 has also been changed to YARiS from Vitz.
