MASERATI emblem

The MASERATI emblem logo is derived from the trident / harpoon (Triaina: Greek)" of the sea god Neptune in the Plaza Maggiore in Bologna, where the company was founded.

MASERATI is an automobile manufacturer founded in 1914 by three Maserati brothers, Alfieri Maserati, Ettore Maserati and Ernesto Maserati. The first company name was Società anonima Officine Alfieri Maserati, which was founded in Bologna. The company has the most oldest history among Italian supercar manufacturers.

The emblem logo's trident expresses the unity of the three Maserati brothers. This design was created by the artist Mario Maserati, the fifth son of the six brothers. The corporate logo's trident is colored red and blue, which are derived from the color of the Bologna city flag.
