SCANIA emblems, logos and badges - Origin, Meaning, History |
The SCANIA emblem logo is derived from the Greek mythology Griffin: English (Griffon: French). The griffin has the head and wings of an eagle, and the body of a lion. An eagle is a symbol of the sky, a lion is the king of the land. This griffin has been drawn since the SCANIA's first emblem logo was born in 1901. The outer circle and inverted triangle is derived from the bicycle chainwheel that SCANIA has manufactured for decades since its founded in 1891. |
